Speaking Engagements
24. September 2009 by Gore Wehner.
I will be speaking at the LCRW meeting on October 24th, discussing the differences between male and female POV, how psychology and literature differ, and how to make your characters more believable in their gender roles. The presentation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
You can also participate in my showing vs. telling workshop at the Rochester Sci-Fi conference Astronomicon November 6-8 at the Radisson Inn on Jefferson Road in Henrietta. I will also be on a couple of panels. I don’t have any more details at this time, so stay posted.

My Revision
15. September 2009 by Gore Wehner.
I am happy to announce I have agent representation, and yes, I am thrilled beyond words.
It’s a long time coming, and I believe persistence is partially the reason I’ve gotten to this point. That and the fact my agent is willing to help me craft my book into an even better one.
I’m not the type who says, after long grueling days with my face in front of a computer screen, “That’s it! I’m done! Finis! It’s perfect.” I’m happy to take it to one of my critique groups and let them rip it to shreds like rabid dogs. Hm. Maybe happy isn’t the right word. But at any rate, I don’t shun it if it makes my novel all the better.
And so, I am in the process of revising my novel, not the first I’ve written, but the first I’ve spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours with, thus ensuring when I finally sell it, I will have been paid -$50 an hour. (That’s not an accidental negative sign before the amount.) As my friend Jim said,it’s a labor of love.
