My Revision

I am happy to announce I have agent representation, and yes, I am thrilled beyond words.

It’s a long time coming, and I believe persistence is partially the reason I’ve gotten to this point. That and the fact my agent is willing to help me craft my book into an even better one.

I’m not the type who says, after long grueling days with my face in front of a computer screen, “That’s it! I’m done! Finis! It’s perfect.” I’m happy to take it to one of my critique groups and let them rip it to shreds like rabid dogs. Hm. Maybe happy isn’t the right word. But at any rate, I don’t shun it if it makes my novel all the better.

And so, I am in the process of revising my novel, not the first I’ve written, but the first I’ve spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours with, thus ensuring when I finally sell it, I will have been paid -$50 an hour.  (That’s not an accidental negative sign before the amount.) As my friend Jim said,it’s a labor of love.
