Almost finished with first round of revisions
20. November 2009 by Gore Wehner.
It hasn’t been easy, with only small bits and pieces of time and forcing myself to write even when I’d rather browse books on Amazon.com. Sometimes I’d even get up and clean something (hello? Toilets?)in order to avoid editing and rewriting. Heck, I’m posting this instead of working on my last two chapters. As I tell my mom (my best critic), “If I didn’t procrastinate, I’d never get anything done!” She says she understands that.
So here’s a dilemma…I don’t know what to rename my novel. My friend Pat I. mentioned The Haven. My husband prefers the original title Knucklebone. What to do, what to do. I joked I should call it Haven and Hell. But in all seriousness, I want such a phenomenal title, no one will be able to resist picking it up to check out the plot. Of course, isn’t that what all authors want? Question is, do they succeed? What’s the best title you’ve ever heard?
Hopefully, I’ll have the next draft out to my agent by Thanksgiving. Then, maybe I can relax, clean toilets, shop Amazon, all without a guilty conscious.
